Nabokov disembarked on June 5 and stayed at the St. Regis Hotel on Fifth Avenue for two "very busy, very amusing, very tiring" weeks in New York, starting with a solid bank of interviews the day he landed. He deposited his rare Chapman's Hairstreaks at the American Museum of Natural History. He saw friends, lawyers, and publishers, notably William McGuire of Bolligen Press. 6月5日から20までのＮＹでの滞在先となったのが、St. Regis Hotelでした。

かなり老舗の、ラグジュアリーなホテルでした。
ニューヨークでの宿泊先の変遷を追うと、
あとになればなるほど豪華になっていきますね。

なお、ここは1960年2月24-27日に、アメリカに帰国したさいに、当時の出版社パットナム社のウォルター・ミントンにいって用意させたホテルであるようです（このことはどこの資料にも書いてませんが）。
